Project overview
The aim is to develop a digital tool that performs a spatial comparison with the data in our Digitize platform by uploading tours and to make it available to users free of charge.
Finally, information on restrictions, protection purposes, rules and behaviour is offered in digital form for the respective requested activity and location.
Platforms can compare entire tour data sets and use simple HTML integration to display information on tours without technical/financial effort.
For visitors, there is a separate application that allows tours to be uploaded and displays a whole range of nature conservation information about the tour.
Expected impact
Due to the advancing digitalization, especially in leisure activities, the mechanisms for planning and implementation have changed, especially there. Leisure enthusiasts are increasingly planning, navigating and informing themselves digitally via smartphone, web and special planning tools (Outdooractive, Komoot, Bergfex,).
Digitalisation offers great opportunities, especially in environmental education and communication, to provide regional information
to a global community. If a tour is planned, information on activity, time and location can be displayed in a targeted manner. Due to their individual and targeted, digital presentation, these have a greater effect on the user than large collections of rules or analogue brochures/signs.
With little information tailored to visitors and planning, the tour can be adhered to protection regulations and
needs of the protected area. In addition, unexpected prohibitions or even conflicts are avoided and the tour can be undertaken with a safe and good feeling.
Furthermore, individual information on place and time (special species and habitats) can be displayed, which increases awareness of nature and protected areas.
The general pressure on protected areas and nature is thus already reduced during planning and navigation. Visitors can be individually and effectively involved in nature conservation and informed and educated at the exact location.
