Legal information on the provision of data on the Digitize-Platform

The provision of administrative data on the DIGITIZE platform is voluntary and serves exclusively as a non-binding guide. Legal liability for the information provided is largely excluded, as it is not considered to be conclusively correct or legally binding.

Pursuant to Section 675 (2) BGB, there is no liability for damages arising from the use of the data provided – except in cases of gross negligence or intent. Users are responsible for checking and verifying the data themselves in accordance with Section 823 (1) BGB.

Additional limitations of liability arise from § 675 BGB in conjunction with § 664 para. 1 sentence 2 BGB, in particular for information provided free of charge. The Data Usage Act (DNG) emphasizes the voluntary nature of the provision of public data and makes it clear that there is no entitlement to complete or legally binding content.

The CC0 licence and the Digitize the Planet terms and conditions underline these principles:
– No guarantee for correctness, completeness or topicality
– No liability for damages resulting from the use of the data
– Voluntary provision without legal obligation
