A strong partner in Switzerland
The 20 Swiss parks are model regions for sustainable development. They implement projects for nature and landscape, revitalize local culture and promote the regional economy. They sensitize residents and visitors to these issues.
The Swiss Parks Network is the umbrella organization for parks of national importance (Swiss National Park, Regional Nature Parks, Nature Experience Parks) and has been supporting them in fulfilling their tasks since 2007. It publicizes the parks and their values, services and offers nationally. It connects the parks with each other, facilitates the exchange of knowledge, promotes professional development and strengthens their common identity. The network works with the parks to implement projects in the areas of geoinformation, nature & landscape, education, tourism and products. It represents the concerns of the parks in politics, national cooperation and international associations.
Statement from the Swiss Parks Network on membership of the association:
“Sustainability in tourism in the Swiss parks is based on the respectful coexistence of people and nature. In order to achieve this balance, the applicable protected area rules should be made available to visitors in an easily understandable and digital format on as many outdoor platforms as possible. Because only known rules and recommendations can inspire consideration and promote responsible behavior.”
