The project, which is supported by the North German Foundation for Environment and Development and financed by proceeds from BINGO! The Environmental Lottery, aims to digitise the protected areas and the applicable rules of conduct and make them available on the Digitise the Planet platform.
We are now cooperating with six federal states at the level of ministries and state offices for the environment. The authorities rely on our standard and support the integration of data at the state level. Thanks to the current funding, this is now also possible in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
We would like to express our special thanks to the staff of the State Office for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Geology, Department 2 – Nature Conservation and Nature Parks, with whom we were able to exchange ideas several times during the application process and who will manage and maintain the Digitise the Planet account with the integrated data after completion.
Thanks to the €20,000 in funding, the data integration can be implemented directly by the DtP team.
The funded project shows how outsourcing data integration to external actors – in this case, our association – is an efficient solution for making nature conservation data available digitally in a fast and reliable manner.
Commissioning Digitise the Planet e. V. to carry out the implementation on behalf of the public sector is also expressly provided for in, for example, UIG § 10(7) UIG.
