Digital tool for temporary closures
As passionate cyclists, we know how important it is to protect nature and at the same time be able to live out our enthusiasm for cycling on the trails. In order to promote this balance, we are presenting the further development of the Digitize platform at EUROBIKE as part of the Bike Travel Forum to include temporary closures in nature and the landscape.
With this extension, we are creating a digital infrastructure for the management and visualisation of temporary closures in nature and landscape conservation areas. These closures can apply during breeding, nesting or rest periods, for example, and are essential to protect sensitive habitats.
The temporary closures are made available as open data via various internet services, including outdoor apps, tour platforms and map applications. This gives cyclists and nature lovers the opportunity to plan their tours even better and at the same time show consideration for sensitive natural areas.
This digital solution is an important step towards harmonising nature conservation and cycling. It promotes a sustainable coexistence of leisure enjoyment and environmental awareness – for a future in which nature and sport go hand in hand.
