Third swiss canton becomes a member
We are delighted to announce that the canton of Schwyz has now become the third canton in Switzerland to join our non-profit association Digitize the Planet!
With this partnership, we want to jointly drive digital change and develop innovative solutions for a sustainable future. The association is committed to making the digital space accessible to everyone and protecting the environment at the same time.
Moena Ulrich from the Office for Forests and Nature comments:
“In view of the increasing pressure on nature reserves in the canton of Schwyz, effective visitor management is becoming increasingly important. In order to do justice to the valuable habitats of our flora and fauna and at the same time ensure recreation for visitors, modern digital tools are of great importance. Digitize the Planet helps us to manage visitor flows in a targeted manner.
We believe that this project offers real added value for protected areas, especially if as many cantons and outdoor platform providers as possible join in and integrate their data.”
