API v2 with data for conservation purposes

Neue API v2 stable I Digitze the Planet

New API v2 interface

We are delighted to announce that, following a successful test phase, our API v2 is now officially available as a stable version.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to all users who have supported us over the past few weeks with their feedback, comments, and suggestions. This feedback was instrumental in further developing API v2 into its current stable form.

What’s new in API v2?

With API v2, we provide additional data for protection purposes that is not included in API v1. In addition, the interface has been fundamentally redesigned:

  • Consistently REST-based
  • Extended and consistent filter options
  • Configurable responses to retrieve data records as needed

Stable means: no breaking changes

With the stable release, no more breaking changes will be introduced. Further developments will be exclusively backward compatible.

We continuously document all changes and enhancements in the changelog:

API v1 is deprecated (sunset date: June 30, 2026)

At the same time, we have marked API v1 as deprecated.
API v1 will remain available until June 30, 2026, and will then be shut down as planned.

We therefore recommend migrating applications to API v2 at an early stage in order to benefit from the new content and the long-term stable interface.
