The Alps, home to unique flora and fauna, are increasingly under pressure as a recreational and cultural area. As the state center of excellence for nature conservation in the Alps, Alpinium develops model solutions for the coexistence of humans and nature in the Allgäu and other Bavarian regions. Under the guiding principle “experience. understand. preserve.” the focus is not only on nature conservation tasks, but also on monitoring flora and fauna and offering nature experiences.
Alpinium statement on membership:
Alpinium has been a committed partner of Digitize the Planet since 2021 – so we are all the more delighted to now also be a member of the association. For years, we have been observing the consequences for nature of the lack of nature conservation rules in portals for tours and outdoor sports. We consider it essential to digitize these important rules and regulations, make them available as open data, and further increase acceptance of nature conservation rules by presenting protected resources. We look forward to continued good cooperation and a fruitful exchange within the Digitize the Planet association.
