Following an on-site meeting in Vienna and further rounds of coordination with the Forestry and Agriculture Departments and the Environmental Protection Department, we are delighted to announce this important strategic partnership.
The City of Vienna commented:
“The city of Vienna is growing steadily and more and more people seeking recreation are looking for a balance in nature. Knowledge about protected areas and compliance with certain rules of conduct is important for the preservation of protected areas with their diversity of habitats and species and for good coexistence between people and nature.
The entry of Vienna’s nature conservation and geodata by the Vienna Environmental Protection Department and the City of Vienna’s Forestry and Agriculture Department in Digitize the Planet enables easy access with sufficient information for all recreationists planning online tours, among other things.
Protected area information and rules of conduct for all outdoor platforms are available in a simple and digital form via the Digitize the Planet interface.
The cooperation with Digitize the Planet is an important step towards the digital protection of Vienna’s protected areas. It makes it easier for recreationists to treat nature with respect and also facilitates on-site care and supervision in the areas.”
