At our 6th General Assembly in June 2026, Digitize the Planet elected its five-member Board. After six years leading the association, Hartmut Wimmer handed over the position of Chair to Mathias Behrens-Egge.

Meet Our Board
- Mathias Behrens-Egge from BTE takes over as Chair of the Board. He has been involved with the association since its founding.
- Dr. Neele Larondelle from Nationale Naturlandschaften e. V. remains Vice Chair. She, too, has been committed to Digitize the Planet from the very beginning.
- Tilman Sobek from Mountainbike Forum Deutschland continues his work as a Board Member and Treasurer and is also part of the founding team.
- Simon Bergmann from the Austrian Alpine Club joins the Board, bringing valuable experience from the digital outdoor route planning platform alpenvereinaktiv, among other areas.
- Prof. Dr. Manuel Steinbauer, Professor of Biogeography and Sport Ecology at the University of Bayreuth, brings additional scientific perspectives to the Board.
Our Board brings together expertise in nature conservation, tourism, outdoor sports, digital route planning platforms, and science. This diversity helps us address the different requirements for digital nature conservation information and continue developing Digitize the Planet together.
